The Hill

I sat upon a hill one day
and watched the world come by to play.
A butterfly came dancing by
and waltzed her message in the sky.
A bird flew up and sang his song
and told me there was nothing wrong.
Out of a burrow popped a Bunny
who laughed because the world was funny.
A mighty eagle flying by
had a bright twinkle in his eye.
The world around me sang of peace,
but I knew it all would shortly cease.
For down the hill my path must lead
to the land of humans – where hearts bleed.
Perhaps if we left our ivory tower,
And sat on a hill, devoid of “power”
with no great castle to prove our might
then we might finally get it right
and learn to live as real life lives;
take only what the true earth gives.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
