Earth Poor

My children deserve better; my children deserve more

than a world that’s left in ashes – we’re leaving them ‘Earth Poor.’

And it’s all because of gluttony and the urge to self-destroy;

Our hedonistic narcissism – our consumeristic joy.

In all the generations that preceded those today

the need to leave a legacy was just the ‘human’ way.

Now all that matters is the ‘me’, the ‘us’ is left behind

And for our children’s children, we’ve done a deed unkind.

But still there is no healing; no usaging our shame.

Do we want the earth’s destruction, the legacy of our name?

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.

    Our generation, They don’t care 😦 . Sadly human only react with fight or flight when they sense immediate danger. Apparently this is not immediate to us.
