Ode To My Rights

There’s an ideal way we’d all like to go;

but till the day comes we really don’t know.

We all hope it will be all quiet and calm

where Angels fly by, gently taking our arm.

In truth there’s oft pain and nightmares awake

before that poor soul death doth finally take.

So while we all aim for the old fashioned way

we should also prepare for our Judgement Day

when we find that breathing’s just not worth the pain

and life’s simple quality’s gone down the drain.

When all you have left is that one final hug

and some helpful bastard to pull out the plug.

So when my time is up and nothing’s worthwhile

just turn off the juice and watch my final smile.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
