Meditation & Trains

Each morning I sit quietly, eyes closed like all the rest
but if you broke my slumber I’d never pass the test.
For though dawn may be breaking and all around me snore
my eyes are closed but mind awake; alert of so much more.
While focused on my breathing I feel all that surrounds;
the gentle rocking of the train, its movement and its sounds.
It’s one this daily journey that I find my morning space
to gently greet the dawning with meditative grace.
This is the time allotted between the early morning yawn
and watching through the window at the beauty of the dawn.
No better way to greet the day than meditations calm
to spread its gentle comfort like an ever soothing balm.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
