Celebrating the Dawn

I love the early morning; the sunrise from the train.
The brilliant hue of sun on clouds; its pink and orange stain
that speaks to us of rebirth; earth once again reborn.
There’s all of that and so much more in that first light of dawn.
then slowly the sky lightens and the colour spreads out more,
and gone for just a little while is all that hate and war,
replaced instead by wonderment; a simple rising sun;
a gift to us from Gaia – a new day just begun.
Soon the light of day will shine on us; its gentleness and pain
and so the cycle that is life, lives to be born again.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
