Love and Laughter

I like to write my poems; I write most every day.
‘cos poems are the one way that I can have my say.
I write ‘bout things that move me and those that twist my heart.
‘Cos poetry’s expression – expression that’s called art.
It lets the writer tell the world what’s really on their mind
and explore its little crevices to see what they can find.
But then, at times, I let go and pen some words in jest.
Just ‘cos at times we need to laugh – as medicine it’s best.
So I sprinkle love with laughter – two lotions for the soul
And hope that in between them, my writing becomes whole.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
