Times of Silence

Those times in life where silence sits, it all just seems it’s waiting.
Those times when all life’s troubles seem to be hibernating.
These are the times I long for when the Spirit is quite clear;
it’s then that I can hear them and hold their healing near.
Walking by the waters where the stream flows through my mind
I know that there is wonder there that I can learn to find.
The path at times is hard to find; where my feet want to go
but I know that it’s the music within the water’s flow.
Though there’s swamps and bogs where I flounder for a while
I need to face the path ahead with an honest smile.
It’s in the silence overwhelming that fills the very soul,
that I know I’ll find the secret to at last be whole.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
