Futures?

I wade through the filth that they left behind,
it’s all that remains of that scurge ‘Mankind’.
I watch as the planet bows under the weight
of those who didn’t stop ‘fore it was too late.
I know She can fix it if given enough time;
for She is the Healer of mankind’s last crime.
So I walk on behind Her to aid as I can,
just one small cog in Gaia’s great plan
to rebuild a world destroyed by their greed;
those gone by the way, on her heart did feed.

About a foolhardy florilegium
