“Surrender is victory” I heard a voice say;
“There can be no winner at the end of day”.
I’d battled so long, I’d fought all the way,
how could I resist the pull of the fray?
I stood on the cliff, the air was so clear
but one step away my end was near.
Retreat was an option I had never known;
it just didn’t fit with the way I had grown.
My ego was raging; a force now full blown;
if I stopped now I’d still reap what I’d sown.
I don’t know what happened deep in my heart
but I knew it was time to make a new start
when I looked and saw the beauty of Her art.
Hello cruel world, I’m here to join this circus.
