Alive

In a world so full of wonder, I wonder how we forgot

to bow our heads in wonder at the beauty that’s our lot.

We come to this planet Earth as visitors for a short time;

the way we behave as guests is nothing short of a crime.

We blunder through like sleeping herds of elephants running wild,

we run amok without a care, we’re worse than an errant child.

to stop and smell the roses and understand where beauty lies;

it lies in the world around us; it’s in the beholders eyes.

Lets take a while and feel it; immersed in being alive;

accept each day and its wonder, there’s no need to strive.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
