Santa Time

Christmas time is here again;

that time when parent’s go insane.

A strange man sneaks into our home

dressed like a demented garden gnome.

We tell our children it’s alright;

strange men loitering in the night.

Tomorrow night it’s Stranger Danger

but ‘cos some kid born in a manger,

two thousand years ago they say

there was a very important day

some kid was born – the son of God;

to me it all sound kind of odd.

But there it is, he waved his hand

and there appeared out of desert sand

an old man dressed up in snow gear

driving a sleigh pulled by reindeer.

And somehow this amazing tale;

where all credibility’s fail

makes it all somehow alright

for stranger prowling in the night

and makes this stalker in disguise,

a hero now before our eyes.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
