I know the rules, the facts to find;
the facts that soothe the tiny mind.
No matter who that one may be
it’s facts and figures we must see.
There’s rules and rules and rules and rules;
the sanctuary of mindless fools.
But hid beneath those facts piled high
a simple should sighs a simple sigh.
For facts and figures are too plain
to speak of fear and speak of pain.
Sorrow and joy you cannot measure
nor love and laughter’s simple pleasure.
But still the only thing you see
is facts and figures you think define me.
