The road to Hell

There’s a path I’ve heard that runs through Hell;

some come out crippled, others well.

Along this long meandering way

there are signs that we can play.

But as folk wander down this trail

the beauty that it has does fail

till deep within this crippling Hell

some souls are trapped within its spell.

Trapped within their own desire;

Consumed by their own Hell’s fire.

There’s no escaping to be free

Once this Hell on earth has captured thee.

It burns you from your very core

and through the pain you ask for more.

The freedom that was once your right

Is now your past – it’s lost from sight.

So stay far from that road to Hell;

keep to the path that keeps you well.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
