You see them come, You see them go;

the rich who think they want to know

just how it is the poor folk live

and what wisdom they can gain or give.

But are you poor when you always know

that back to your world you can go?

A simple phone call and you’re free

is not a path the poor can see.

Dad’s not there with cash to pay

and set you back along your way.

To them, their future’s like their past;

Their life is here – the die is cast.

But back to their world the rich will go

for they’ve gained ‘wisdom’, they now ‘know.’

But the rich can never know or see

from poverty you’re never free.

It eats away at heart and soul

and daily makes you feel less whole.

There’s one thing the rich will never know –

your poverty is their cash flow.
