Dreaming

Today I saw some happiness; ‘twas hiding in plain sight.
Amid all life’s confusion it kinda looked all right.
It looked like people laughing and grownups playing too
and I’m pretty sure amongst it all I saw both me and you.
We both danced a joyful Jig and sang songs through the day
and then we got some toys out and we had a little play.
But then the fun was over; the children came to rule;
they told us not to act the goat and not to play the fool.
So we all went Bahhh and jumped about like any goat would do.
I know that I had lots of fun and hope that you did too.
But now my friend, the dreaming’s done and back to work we go;
it’s noses to the grindstone – the world that we all know.
There’s time clocks there and bills to pay – responsibility rules;
Where heads go down and bums go up – who really are the fools

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
