the world

At times long gone I’ve flown so high like sunrise in the morn
farewelled the beauty of the stars to welcome in the dawn.
Today my world has changed a lot but so much bright remains
and now I reap the benefits of all life’s loss and gains.
I look at all the beauty that surrounds my heart and soul
And know this place can never be anything but whole.
From the glory of the sunrise to the sunset painted gold,
From the single grass blade growing to the mighty forest tree,
All these things and so much more are wonders we can see.
They spread out wide before us and make our world complete.
They sparkle in the deepest eye of everyone we meet.
We just need eyes to see them and hearts to hear their truth
It’s then an old man can stand tall and know again his youth.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
