Life in the slow lane – it’s all going too fast;
it no sooner gets here than somehow it’s past.
The tempest continues forcing life to fly high;
a slow motion movie as life hurtles by.
Life in the slow lane – the die has been cast.
Our world as it happens; we view futures past.
Life’s meaning a blur; so fast yet so slow
and the wheel spins, where it stops we don’t know.
Then we are past it, yet one more spin is done,
and we bask in the glory under cancerous sun.
Life in the slow lane with no more to give,
as the sands of time run through life’s finest sieve.
In the end it’s the same – we’re all beaten by time
and we die on the Cross for destiny’s crime.
Hello cruel world, I’m here to join this circus.
