Rebel Song

Like so many gone before, I take a Rebels stand,

not to take up arms and fight in some battle grand;

but to stand against injustice and all I see as wrong

and to add my little voice to a hearty rebel song.

True wars aren’t won with violence and deadly sword and gun;

true victory comes from hearts and minds – it’s there the war is won.

So though I may be punished for ‘thoughts’ I call my own,

I only hope that something grows from seeds I may have sown.

One seed is worth a thousand swords when victory’s finally here

And victory in this war we’re in must certainly be near.

For the suffering of Gaia must soon come to an end;

There’ll come a day when she will break, when she no more can bend.

That fracture will reverberate from Pole to Pole and more

The only outcome if we keep this never-ending war.

Two thousand years and more this war humanity has waged

While all across the planet’s face destruction we have raged.

We fight not for our freedom, nor for our daily bread,

We fight instead for Mammon; the milk on which we’ve fed.

No care held for our future or the children who not yet be;

we simply feed like wanton dogs, like all in life is free.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
