All life on earth will surely die
if we do not decide to try
to save what’s left; forget our greed,
live simply then with what we need.

I see no hope! It’s man’s foul ways
will surely bring the end of days;
but does it matter, should we care,
mankind who’s stripped the planet bare.

the whole world burns beneath our weight
yet we gorge ourselves with fear and hate.
A world with no room for simple love
will find no help from their ‘God above’.

‘Tis us who must amend our way;
heads in the stars, feet in earth’s clay
is the path that we must now follow,
walk from this way that leaves us hollow.

‘Tis time for change, the time is near;
we won’t face death without some fear.
If we but stand and change our style
mayhaps we can stay here yet a while.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
