Waltz with Matilda

As I waltz with Matilda through lanes never known
I look past the seeds that I know my life’s sown.
I look to the future somewhere deep in my past;
a place where I know long shadows were cast.
I know there is wisdom, I know there is truth
I know that I glimpsed it way back in my youth.
I know that I saw it but just didn’t know
that it was a path where my rhythm would flow.
Perhaps in this tune I can relearn the way
that my heart, in the past, did not stop play.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
