For many years I pondered just how life could have been
if I’d been a bit smarter and the obstacles I’d seen.
But through it all I blundered on not taking any trail;
just wandering, no goal in sight – no thought of pass or fail.
But there’s beauty and there’s wisdom on paths not often trod;
at times you may just get a glimpse of that thing some call “God”.
But goals are good some times in life and direction has its days;
it sometimes helps us find the doors to many different ways.
So, now days though I wander, and feel lost from time to time,
I know that working to a plan is not, itself, a crime.
