The Young Ones Are Revolting

I watch the Spirit rising; so high the young can fly.
I watch their anger rising for the planet we’d let die.
The rebellion now has started, we might finally see the end;
a last reprieve for Gaia so she can finally mend.
The Spirit I felt rippling through that youthful crowd
had the feel of desperation built onto something proud.
‘Tis the young who’ll bring about the change like it’s always been;
it’s them who’ll stand at barricades and hoist the flag of green.
It’s them who’ll shoulder futures and build the Earth anew,
while we all stood in silence as disaster grew and grew.
So, ’tis to them I bend my knee, their power and their awe
and offer up my service in this upcoming war.
They are the future of the Earth; Gaia’s only way.
If there’s to be tomorrow, it’s them who’ll win the day.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
