Mother’s Day

Every day I honour her, not just one day a year;

I honour her with laughter and sometimes with a tear.

‘Twas she who bore me nine long months, then for so much more.

‘Twas she who picked me up again and tended every sore.

“Twas she who gave support to me through troubled younger days

And through it all she loved me in those special Mother ways.

She offered up her guidance as I stumbled on my trail

And in her eyes I saw the truth “My son you cannot fail.

For in my heart you’ll always be the apple of my eye

And you can be most anything if you just choose to try.”

Though it’s taken many years to find the path she saw

I offer her my heartfelt thanks – the Mum I still adore.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
