“He’s a bit manic” I hear them say

“has too much fun within his day!

“Can’t be normal, can’t do him good;

laugh like that – really, no one should!”

But flying with the birds on high,

I briefly stop and wonder why

all people can’t laugh every day

no matter what the world should say.

‘Cos laughter sets the soul on fire

to dance on its own funeral pyre.

Like a Phoenix born of its own demise

laughter helps the spirit rise.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
