Class

The time must come; as it will pass
for the one who lives outside his class.
One day it will all be found ‘true’,
the class rules set for me and you.
To live outside these social rules;
the domain of heroes and of fools.
To live a life above your lot
is to pretend a thing you’re not.
And class is there, it’s you and me;
the right to stand both proud and free.
To live outside where we should dwell
can bring a special sort of hell
which comes to steal away your heart;
no matter the motive at your start.
So understand both young and old
“class” is as strong as you are bold.
So if you choose to try to hide
Be prepared for a bumpy ride.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
