Your Song

Write the words that are your song

for that’s the place where you belong.

No tales of others – old or new,

your truth, that place inside of you.

Deep from your heart but not your brain;

your brain’s a mess of long-lost pain.

Write instead of love, joy and truth

not from your disillusioned youth.

Should we succumb to guilt and fear?

This judgement day now quite near.
