On religion

Life, if lived by many rules
is mostly the domain of fools.
There’s those who see life as a place
where punishment is all we face.
“We’re born in sin” their battle cry
“Repent ye sinner, before you die”
“Lest our god cast you into fire
where you’ll burn but you’ll never expire.”
‘Christians’ they’re called, a grumpy folk
who never do see life’s real joke;
They’re born in ‘Sin’ a mournful place
from which they scramble for god’s grace.
Their vengeful god who they believe
will smite them down and never grieve
the fact that he has killed his own;
who from his very seed have grown.
Perhaps if they worshipped his wife
we’d find ourselves in much less strife.
For women, I oft find to be
more forgiving with hearts more free.
So let’s just dump this macho man
who sees our death as his master plan
and follow one who’ll always strive
to keep us both free and alive.

About a foolhardy florilegium

Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes.
