Walking in the park today I noticed diplines; that line around a tree where it directs rain for maximum effect.
You never see driplines in a forest; in a forest It’s more like “All for one and one for all.”
In the park the diplines looked like boundaries; this is my domain so other trees stayout.
It’s a thing I’ve noticed in humans too; domesticate us and we will fight to the death to defend ‘our turf’ but in more traditional societies it’s more “Here you need a bit of turf, we can share”.
