Dressed in their coats of many colours, vestments so beguiling
there’s many gurus out there; gods of their own strange styling.
They say “There is a future where all of us can be free,
and all you need to do to get there, is come and follow me.”
It’s easy then to follow, in the hope they may be true
and show the path to heaven to simple folk like me and you.
Then there is the cost of it; no one said heaven gate was cheap.
But once you’ve bought your ticket it’s a thing you always keep.
So we shell out our hard earned dollars to open heaven’s door
and when it doesn’t open then we must pay more and more.
We must have been much naughtier than at first we knew or thought
and we should know by now that heaven isn’t a thing cheaply bought.
So once again we fill the plate to the sounds of heaven’s chiour;
knowing it’s the only way to bypass Hade’s eternal fire.
The we find ourselves in coldest night without a blankets cost
and wonder why se sit in freezing hell, with all our money lost.
Mayhaps it’s following Gurus that’s the biggest sin of all;
the ceaseless, senseless pursuit of heaven’s call.
Hello cruel world, I’m here to join this circus.
