My Father’s Wisdom

My father’s wisdom was of the Earth.
A pragmatist from days long past,
he knew the ways of Bird and Beast
a way he honoured to the last.
From him I learned so much now lost,
forgotten ‘cross life’s space and time
but so much gained ’twas worth the cost.
