Our Nature 2

Fueled by the fire of insatiable greed
we wander the earth seeking yet one more feed.
The cultures consumed, the wildness laid bare
to us simply profit – a part of life’s fare.
Our feces is strewn from North to South Pole;
shit from a culture with consumption its goal.
We step in it daily – it smothers our hearts;
in it’s filth we wallow – of it we are parts.
How did it get here and how will it go?
It seems to be all our culture does know!
But our future is bleak if we don’t change our ways,
when our finite resources reach end of days;
when there’s no more to take – no more we can use
but the earth will go on – it’s us who’ll lose.

About a foolhardy florilegium
