A day on the trail

DSCN0975

Out hiking with my Sophie, the wonder of my life.
A six year old and wise child; the image of my wife.
We never get to strides flow; too much to see and do
and just round each corner, there’s always something new
Some new image for her camera, or the ever present “Why?”
And the whole world is a wonder; brown earth to clear blue sky.
At times there is frustration; “Come on now, let’s just go!”
it’s then I must remember, she asks ‘cos she should know.
But all in all it’s wonderful, to be here with this child;
to see her ‘Nature Spirit’ waken to all things free and wild.
