Self-doubt

When self-doubt fill my heart and soul
I hunker down and feel unwhole.
‘Tis then I know that I must be
once again proud, whole and free.
So stand I must against the pain
lest it should win; drive me insane.
That inner strength that I can use
against my own mind’s subterfuge.
